On Thursday, July 6, all Metrowest residents are invited to view the movie “The Age of Consequences” to learn about some serious geo-political and security projections due to climate change. Come to the 350MA Metrowest Node meeting at First Parish, 24 Vernon Street, Framingham, 7:00 to 9:30pm.
The news often mentions the increases in droughts, floods, ocean rises, and severe weather. These events will impact agriculture, fishing, water resources, and coastal cities. And these will cause millions of humans to make difficult choices in a world of increasing tensions and permeable national borders. How will governments and military establishments respond?
Kyle Ahlers of Ashland says, ” Whether increased vulnerability or sudden catastrophe, I need to hear some sobering thoughts about increased societal instability all around the globe. Time now is so important!”
Also on the agenda: local advocacy and actions, including our recent ongoing effort to assess sustainability efforts in several nearby towns. First time visitors are especially welcome. Come learn and share. Our Metrowest node public meetings usually happen the first Thursday of the month, with locations changing to accommodate learners, supporters, and activists around the region. All are invited to sit in on the breakout groups for the local initiatives as well as the informal planning group that meets on dates prior to the monthly meeting. Light refreshments available.
