For Earth Day this year, we champion healthy soil and healthy food through local, small-scale farming and gardening. On 18 April, come celebrate spring with a backyard vegetable garden tour, a nature walk, and much more. Also enjoy our weekly articles in the Wayland Town Crier.
April 18 SCHEDULE (will continue to evolve)
1-5 PM: Tour the Community Gardens and stop by our Community Garden plot, the first garden on the right. We’ll be working on the beds, the paths, the plantings. Bring work gloves and boots if you’d like to lend a hand. Or just chat, learn and share your gardening stories and advice.
1 PM: Walk from the parking lot for Hamlen Woods on Rice Road. This guided meditative walk will bring us to Renee Bolivar’s garden.
1-3 PM: Backyard demonstration in Renee Bolivar’s garden at 28 Woodridge Road: Renee of Gardens by Renee will show her raised garden beds and greenhouse.
In this year’s Earth Day logo we stuck a fork in it, but we’re far from done!
