3/26: Interfaith Get Together

The Interfaith Book Club of the Islamic Center of Boston, in  Wayland, invites you to a get together at the Islamic Center on March 26, from 1 – 5 PM, for fellowship and discussion. This follows the celebration of World Interfaith Harmony Week (February 1-7),and  the reading of the book The Faith Club: a Muslim, a Christian, a Jew – Three women search for understanding, by Ranya Idliby, Suzanne Oliver, and Priscilla Warner.

The goal is to foster a deeper understanding among people of all faiths and traditions.

World Interfaith Harmony Week was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on 20 October 2010. In the resolution, the General Assembly, points out that mutual understanding and inter-religious dialogue constitute important dimensions of a culture of peace and establishes World Interfaith Harmony Week as a way to promote harmony between all people regardless of their faith. Recognizing the imperative need for dialogue among different faiths and religions to enhance mutual understanding, harmony and cooperation among people, the General Assembly encourages all … to support … the spread of the message of interfaith harmony and goodwill…’
