If you know a child looking for a great outdoor experience, Wayland Walks is again offering the Interfaith Woodland and Wetland Adventure Week for children going into grades 2-5, based at Open Spirit in Framingham, but exploring a variety of outdoor areas nearby, including in Wayland.
Interfaith Woodland & Wetland Adventure Week
Monday-Friday, July 20-24, 9 AM – 12 PM
Open Spirit, 39 Edwards Street, Framingham, and nearby conservation lands
For children entering Grades 2-5
$100 for the week or $25 per day. Scholarships are available.
Explore the wonders of woods, fields & streams! Be a detective – identify plant and animal signs, follow trails, find out where brooks and ponds come from. Imagine, play games, make friends (maybe even with a tree!) and create nature crafts, keep a nature journal, read maps, catch bugs. Share the wonder of the natural world. We plan to climb to Tipling Rock at Nobscot and explore the Garden in the Woods, as well as other sites, and possibly go canoeing. Every session will include hiking, outdoor play and exploration, time for lunch, and time for individual quiet connection to nature. Be ready for the great outdoors rain or shine!
